Ann Arbor, Michigan – 08/16/2010 — WordPress experts 3.7 DESIGNS have developed and launched a social network and website for the Michigan State University. The website is focused around the upcoming journalism school’s centennial conference. As a way to further engage alumni and current students the site features a full social network where users can connect and interact with each other.
The site is built on the WordPress platform, an open source content management solution. WordPress is one of the most popular and widely used open source solution and features a large developer network and feature adding plugins. The social network is powered by the plugin “Buddypress” which mimics the features and functionality of popular social network Facebook.
The site will continue to evolve as more details about the conference are finalized, including a full sponsor management system, event details and online registration. Additionally the site is planned to be used post event as an ongoing place for journalism school students to network and use.
